L.U.S.T teams up with the "Surfrider Foundation"
Ahoy there, great news!!!
We will be conducting a beach clean up after the Chocolate Barrels Classic at Tam O'Shanter with the aid of the Surfrider Foundation.
The Surfrider Foundation is a not for profit organisation dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches for all people. Check out the web site, its pretty sick!
http://www.surfrider.org.au/
They also run some of the most remote and hardcore surf trips/beach clean ups around Tassie and the rest of the world. I wont say too much now as you can meet the boys on the day and ask them about it...
Ask them about the last trip to the South West Cape of Tas a couple of months ago.. mind blowing perfect surf and they collected over 4 tonnes of rubbish of the pristine beaches!

Some comp details.....
Hey guys the comp is just around the corner... 9 sleeps in fact. Remember to keep an eye on this blogspot each Thursday, Friday and Saturday night as we will be doing nightly Tama surf for casts for the comp and then give the "green light/ go ahead" for the event. We have not got every ones email address so the blogspot is the best way to keep in contact so remember to check it..
For those of you who havent surfed Tama or who have and dont know what conditions are needed email us at LUST.UTAS@gmail.com and we will give you a break down of what is needed weather wise to surf the joint.
Definately try to get a pair of booties before the event as they will really help if you get a long one and need to do the run back up the point and stay within the 20 min heat.
Contest fee is $10 per event mens shortboard, womens shortboard/longboard, mens bodyboard
If you take part in 3 events then its $25, all participants have to be financial members of LUST so they have to be current Uni card holders and have already payed there $25, dont worry we will sign members up on the day for those of you who missed out...
sweet keep an eye on this space, also we will be conducting a beaach clean up on the day which will help the environment, keep locals happy and fix up ya karma...
cheerio
Also LUST is now on facebook so those of you who get distracted by this program look us up and join!

L.U.S.T takes steps to make Poverty History!
L.U.S.T members teamed up with the crew from "Red Herring Surf" to take part in the "Walk Against Want" fundraising event put on by Oxfam as part of the "Make Poverty History" movement in Launceston last Sunday morning.
Members from Red Herring and LUST collected money from the public to donate to the charity in the week leading up to the event. Good weather was enjoyed as was the use of extremely tight fluro shorts supplied by Victor at Red Herring which gained allot of attention from the passers by on the walk from Royal park to the first Basin and back.
for more information on the Make Poverty History movement check out the following link...
